Just gettng over a bout of the flu I needed to escape the city and the perfect getaway was Dickens on the strand , in Galveston . My good friends and fellow muses Virginia and Shannon battled the elements with me to find out poor old Dickens was washed out . We did manage to visit the Stewart Mansion ,one of my absolute 'fave' places to visit in Galveston and we were in exhalted company as Shannon has the famous pirate ''JEAN LAFITTE , as part of her family tree . It is rumoured that Lafitte buried treasures around the mansion many moons ago . We then visited my favourite shop in galveston ,The Witchery on Post Office street , where Virginia gave the owners Clyde and Kim a short palm reading . All in all it was a great rejuvination ,even with the flu and the rain , to get out in the fresh sea air and blow off the cob webs .
